iPhone Game Kit Discussed on the Cocos2D Podcast

Groggy, slit-eyed, glugging instant coffee, and doing all the energizing yoga moves available, I attached my iPhone’s headphone/microphone thingy and Skyped with two friends in the mobile game development world. We recorded an installment of the Cocos2D podcast just for you.

We talked about the history of the iPhone Game Kit; what it was like developing the first Quexlor RPG; why Microsoft sucks; old-school games like Warcraft, Doom, and Starcraft; cross-platform iPhone and Android development; the games you all have been making (props to Rob for making Infinity Control); MMORPGs; Kobold2D; and what it’s like living on a boat.

Steffen Itterheim’s words floated across the Internet all the way from Germany. Mohammad was talking in Texas. Yours truly: California.

Have a listen, enjoy making games, and remember to look your dreams in the eye.

It was cool to hear you and Steffen in the same podcast. I bookmarked your sites one after the other in 2010 before I knew you guys knew each other. Cool story about living on the boat! BTW, I think those guys are right about Android. Although it has a larger market share than iOS now, people don’t buy apps for Android in nearly the same volume they do for iOS.
